Our Story
Founded in 2024 by co-founders Gareth Makuza and Lydia Muverengwi, XcellentAI was born from a simple belief: every business should have access to world-class artificial intelligence solutions tailored for African success.
Gareth Makuza, a 2024 LinkedIn Top Voice in AI and Perplexity AI 2025 Business Fellow, and Lydia Muverengwi, a certified AI expert and AI Advocate, recognized that generic AI solutions weren't addressing the unique challenges facing African businesses from infrastructure considerations to local market dynamics.
Today, we've delivered measurable AI transformation to over 15 businesses across marketing, education, manufacturing, IT, and business consultancy sectors. We've trained 150+ individuals on effective AI usage, combining deep technical expertise with intimate knowledge of African business landscapes.
